Book Inspiration

One Sweet Love is set in Asheville. Julie works at Little Shop of Sugar, a chocolate store modeled after my favorite, The Chocolate Fetish. Jayson works in the Jackson Building, a small skyscraper built on the land where Thomas Wolfe’s father had his headstone making business. Julie’s favorite restaurant is Blue Goose, an ode to White Duck Taco Shop. Hill of Beans isn’t real, but Mosaic Cafe inspired their smoothies. The Arboretum is real, though they don’t have an indoor wedding venue like in the book. There is an actual castle in Asheville (two, if you include Biltmore). And there is tasty sushi to be had in Asheville.

Recipes from the Book

While there wasn’t a lot of cooking in the book, there was plenty of food. Make your own Orange Dreamsicle Smoothie, Fantastic Fish Tacos, Chicken Parmesan, and Creamy Fettuccini Alfredo with the recipes provided.
